Autonomous spending
An agent can make many payments quickly and without review. Bugs, misconfiguration and manipulated input can all cause unintended payments. Policies reduce this risk; they do not remove it.
Digital assets
x402 payments typically use stablecoins on public blockchains. Stablecoins can lose their peg, be frozen by their issuer, or become unavailable. On-chain payments are generally irreversible.
Keys and custody
Anyone holding a spending key can spend its balance. Loss or theft of a key can mean total loss of the funds it controls.
Protocol and service risk
The x402 specification, facilitators and paid services are outside this project's control. They may change, fail or behave maliciously. A paid service may not deliver what it charged for.
Legal and regulatory
Rules for automated payments, stablecoins and money transmission differ by jurisdiction and are changing. Get qualified advice for your situation.
No token, no returns
There is no PAY//AGENT token, sale, airdrop or yield. Anything claiming otherwise is not from this project.
